Just a little GOOD JOB post to my ePT clients!

If there is something I really love doing, it is to inspire and motivate people to change their lives in a positive way. That is why I enjoy helping clients with their training and nutrition via internet as well as in real life. I feel so proud when I hear about new personal bests, fat losses and when a client goes from an exercise-hater to a gym rat in months, well, that is relly a joy to see!

There are always ups and downs as well as for me as for my clients. Sometimes I’m the best in the whole world to them and sometimes I’m the worst m-f  and B**** as well  when I’m tough on them . That’s the way it is to be a trainer and a coach.

I’m very very proud of all of you who chose me to be your guide in the fitness field.

Just wanted to let you know that!

sugar-addicted folks…

I had my car served yesterday and had to spend some time sitting at starbucks. I fell asleep btw. But before that I watched people come and go, ordering one huge so called coffe drink after another. I won’t even call starbucks’ coffee for coffee: if you take it black it’s so crazy hot it takes 2hours for it to cool down since they believe you will fill it up with cream, sugar, ice, whatever. It tastes nothing like coffee. it takes a quadruple espresso to make it taste a little like GOOD coffee.

Well, anyhow, watching these people come and go I got more and more annoyed. How can they go order those insulin-shocking diabetes-promoting drinks? I’t just an excuse to drink sugar! Heck, most people wouldn’t notice if the coffee in those drinks were missing since it’s so filled up with cream!

I know, I know, people should ofcourse be able to drink whatever they want, but it’s amazing how they just don’t seem to care about their health. Just because they are not obese it doesn’t mean you’re fit! I don’t think a little belly pouch, a triple chin and swollen face are characteristic for healthy bodies. No, it shows the sugar is eating them up from the inside. Sugar at the wrong times are not good. mark my words: sugar at the wrong times is not good.

I so wanted to approach each one of them asking “excuse me, but do you know what that junk is doing to your body? Do you know you’re prepping for diabetes this way?”

But then I’m no police officer, so I know it’s none of my business. But the kids, they get the same habits going! They all go to starbucks, to in-n-out burger, to Ihop, to mcdonalds, to all those horrible places!

Well, my kids won’t for sure!

It’s “just” four months to my next show. It wil be the california pro figure show in Anaheim, California. please go there and cheer for me, I could use some home support!:-)

I’m also going for the colorado pro in early June. I wanted to do that show last year but had to cancel it since I had no place to live and no car and well, it was kind of messy at that time. The promoter Jeff taylor and his wife are just so cute and funny and actually it’s mostly thanks to them I’m so wanting to compete in Denver.

Then we have the new jan tana show in late june in New York. THAT one I want to do too, but it’s very close to my trip to Sweden a week later, so we’ll see how I’ll manage it financially. competing in figure is costly.

I have a lot of new things going on… very very interesting stuff….I’ll let you know what it is as soon as I can.

This morning’s cardio was done on the gauntlet. I can now do some running, like forty steps at level 18 before I just cannot stand it. Now my goal is to be able to run it for atleast 1 minute, then 15 sec break and then 1 minute again. Oh, it soooo burns from lactic acid. I just love it, it’s a beautiful horrible pain!

yesterday was a busy day. up at 4.30 for cardio, did interval running on the gauntlet, oooh that is so hard, I love that machine and it really feels like I better stay focused so I don’t fall off down in the black hole behind me.:-) Had to skip stretching to make it back and to get to Fairfax for some fingerprinting. There I had to wait for three hours until a russian lady did my fingers.Later, photo shoot location scouted on sunset blvd. Checked out two facilities, bu nne of them fitted the feature I’m doing.

Worked chest, was kind of tired. Everything went good until I suddenly got some kind of black out and found myself doing an ALL-OUT shoulder dumbbell presses set instead. WHAT???? What am I doing???? It was all wrong, lol, I was not doing those! I however did that one set at  personal best equal (PBE) so that was great, but after that my chest was weaker ofcourse…. I ruined it a bit. However, I did negative dips with 10 lbs more weight than ever: at 80 lbs extra.  hat is really good training for stabilizing the shoulder blades so they don’t end up around ear level! :-)

I had a bad body-day yesterday though: suddenly cramping gluts, hams, lower back, trgigger points, no ability to flex one quad etc. Hm…weird…I did however do sprints this mornign after a loong warmup and it didn’t make it worse, quite the opposite. I just don’t know why my hipflexors are so screaming when I stretch them. I need to investigate more.

I had the flu last weekend and the aftermaths were two days of extreme abdominal cramps. But just at night between 8 pm and 2 am… When lying there in bed I started to think about my horses back in the old days…They sometimes got cramps too and I remember it was critical we took them out walking because if we didn’t they would roll in the hay and their intestines would get strained and the horse would die. So, suddenly I got scared: could I explode from the pressure in my abdomen? In no way did it disappear until about 2 am.

Since today was a shoot day I really had to get my sleep back on track. I tried all different medications (OTC) but nothing helped. Than I found peppermint oil and fennel seeds. I used that and you know what? I do NOT know if I just got well again tonight or these two powerful herbal products work wonders! Anyhow I didn’t get the cramps last night!

did cardio on the beach this morning. hamstrings felt good during it. But in the afternoon my left glute and hamstring started aching. And the same hip is tight. Sigh, why did it have to come  back….It was so good for a little while. well, on monday I’ll see dr Ben. He’s just awesome. magic worker. Time to go to the gym for some cardio.

anyone needs a verizon pay as you go card?

Send me an email and I’ll give you one for 75 dollars. It’s a refill card.

I found the card yesterday on the ground but since I have another company I cannot use it.

sick

January 22, 2007 at 1:26 pm | In Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

My parents left yesterday morning for Sweden. We went to a restaurant the night before to say goodbye. I had been feeling a little ill the day before, but suddenly it broke out big times. So, the weekend I was in bed with a fever and a flu. Now it’s monday morning and the fever is gone, but I feel so weak. I’m supposed to go do cardio and I better just start the week as planned because it’s natural to feel bad when you’ve been sick.

heck, I’m so unused to feel like this, lol, I’m never really sick, so I’m not good at being sick. well, nobody should be used to it, so who am I trying to convince…

Anyway, since I’ve been in bed all weekend long my lower back is hurting. Oh, I’m complaining like a baby!

ok,  here we go again, it’s monday night and I just got back home from a lousy workout! Starting this morning I did cardio and boy was I fatigued after one minute. I know, I know, no cardio when you’re ill but in my world I’m alright when I’m not dying, ok? I endured it, went home and tried to feel a little bit hungry. Nothing. My beloved oatmeal that usually is made xlarge with the addition of loads of wheat bran and flax seeds was today a shadow of its former self: I made it without any added fiber to make it easier to eat… It was too much anyway and I felt nautious.

Tonight I was going for shoulders and while drinking my preworkout shake on the wy to the gym I was somewhat certain I would do a mistake today like dropping dumbbells on my head or similar stuff. Well, that didn’t happen thank lord.

Warming up took forever, no energy. I made it a point to lift the same weights as usual with my dumbbell presses and with maximum output I did. what a relief! I would have been so grunty if I hadn’t made it. But then it annoyed me too: if I can still handle the same weights when I’m not at peak condition as I do on normal strong days, that means I’m not pushing hard on the other days! I have lots more to  exert! what a whimp I must be! So, now I gotta push harder, this is starting to look bad in my book!

I did two sets of each exercise, going for heaviest poundage as always, but today the dizziness was kind of irritating. I was more concerned with not throwing up than pushing good and well.

I was supposed to do a little cardio afterwards, but after three minutes on the little recumbent bike at no intensity at all I admitted to myself this was just a waste of energy! I better save that for tomorrow to do some REAL cardio instead. Tomorrow is also quads and glutes, so I better be better tomorrow. I can NOT be like this one more day or I’m gonna get small, tiny and weak!

New favourite!

I love bargains, that’s why I put my x-ray vision on when shopping at ralphs for fresh veggies. I scan the whole area in seconds and no red tags get away from ME. I see them and I pick them. Joy, joy, when I find organic greens for a dollar a bag! Happiness at its peak!;-)

Me being such a true food price hunter, I found a new favourite the other day. curly mustard! You find it here:

I microwave it for 20 minutes (2 bag) and add salt, pepper, garlic etc. It tastes delicious!

YESSSSSS AGAIN!!!! New PB with deadlifts! 5 more lbs on the bar and that was EASY! Just 45 more to go to 300, here I come!!!

Also, you who have been following my blog know I’ve been struggling with my glutes and hamstring. well, it seems now they are letting me win finally! After a chitchat with my awesome chiropractor Dr Ben Kleinbrodt      he suggested me to stretch my hip flexors more. I said I already did that, but it turned out I do it not that efficiently. You see, I’m flexible so I like doing big range of motion stretches even though they might not target the muscle as good as a smaller movement. I can do splits etc with ease, but it didn’t stretch my hip flexors, they just made me arch my back so the hip flexor muscles got away! Now, I had this in the back of my mind, but I tend to forget.

Now I’ve been stretching the hip flexors really really thoroughly, making sure they get all the attention. What happened? Well, my glutes and hamstring are not aching!!!!! WOW!!! I could sprint without pain yesterday after a good warmup (I’m bad at warming up, but I now know I need to just like everyone else!) and today deadlifts were so good!!

I’m very very very happy!
